Training & Coaching Policy

There are currently Learn to Sail courses scheduled every Saturday morning of the sailing season from 10am til 12pm. (This is subject to change)

The Manning River Sailing Club offers courses to suit people of all ages. Sailing can be a family sport and as such, families are encouraged to attend. It should also be noted that these courses are not just for existing sailors or locals.

Tuition is also available for sailors wishing to further their current knowledge.

Courses are conducted in a safe, inland river environment with a variety of suitable boats used.

Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive an official certificate stating that they have completed the course.

Compared to other courses offered, the rates are very reasonable and arrangements can be made for disadvantaged persons and for families in which a number of members participate in the course.

For the course, each participant will need to bring:
....o A change of clothes
....o Sunscreen and hat
....o Old shoes or rubber boots for sailing to stop cut or bruised feet
....o A few water bottles. You can get very thirsty whilst sailing.
....o Towel
....o Wetsuit (if possible) or a warm jumper and spray jacket.
....o Board shorts or swimmers.
....o A Snug Fitting Life Jacket (approved to Australian Standards) - if you do not have a lifejacket, you can rent one from the club each day.

Note: It is strongly recommended that items of significant value not be brought as these can be easily lost, stolen or damaged.

The Manning River Sailing Club is located behind KFC, next to the Rowing Club.
